Brazil’s Blask Index falls 78.2% in a week as licensed betting heads for 6 October shutdown. Brazil’s Blask Index fell 78.2% in the week of 28 September to 4 October, the second weekly fall since President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva signed Medida Provisória 1.394 on 25 September. The week before, the index fell 20.1%. Offshore brands took a growing share of what is left. Their share of Brazil’s Blask Index rose from 3.7% in the week of 14–20 September to 5.9% in the next week and 18.1% in the week of 28 September. On 4 October it reached 23.4%. The daily index shows how fast the drop came. On 4 October it stood at about a tenth of its average in the week of 14–20 September. What the ban does. MP 1.394 bans the exploitation, offer, intermediation and advertising of fixed-odds bets on sports and online games, in physical and virtual channels, including foreign operators that sell to people in Brazil. Other legal lottery types stay outside the ban. New deposits have been closed since the day of publication. Voluntary withdrawals stay open until 23:59 on 5 October. Sites and apps go offline from 6 October. Operators file remaining balances by CPF with banks on 7–8 October, and banks return the money on 9–14 October. How to read the data. Blask Index is a real-time measure of market demand volume for iGaming brands in a given country, based on normalized search data. The weekly change compares the week of 28 September to 4 October with the week of 21–27 September. Onshore and offshore describe a brand’s licensing status in Brazil. They do not mean legal or illegal. Offshore share is the offshore brands’; part of the combined Blask Index of all tracked brands in Brazil. Finland’s Blask Index rises 18.7% in a week as Eurojackpot jackpot reaches €120M cap. Finland’s Blask Index rose 18.7% in the week of 28 September to 4 October, to 956,700 from 806,100. The week ended with the Eurojackpot jackpot heading for its €120 million maximum, which Veikkaus announced late on 2 October after Friday’s draw produced no top-prize winner. Veikkaus’s own index rose faster, by 33.7%, to 441,700 from 330,200. It makes up 46% of Finland’s total. The daily peak came on Friday 2 October at 183,500, followed by 176,700 on Saturday. Those are the highest values since 19 September, when the index reached 194,200. The next draw is on Tuesday 6 October. If nobody wins, the jackpot stays at €120 million. A win would exceed Finland’s largest prize, €91.9 million, won in Siilinjärvi in 2019. The jackpot was about €106 million for the draw on 29 September. Finland’s index regularly peaks on Friday and Saturday. When Eurojackpot reached the same €120 million level in May, the Tuesday of the draw (26 May) showed no visible jump in Finland’s index: 185,200 against 178,200 the Tuesday before. This week’s rise coincides with the jackpot, but the data alone does not show the jackpot caused it. Blask will check the index again after Tuesday’s draw. How to read the data. Blask Index is a real-time measure of market demand volume for iGaming brands in a given country, based on normalized search data. Finland’s total includes Veikkaus, which runs the state lottery as well as other games, so the index reflects lottery interest as well as online casino and betting brands. Weeks run Monday to Sunday. SportyBet’s demand share in South Africa tripled to 1.3%, lifting it nine places. A similar rise in Kenya left the brand in the same position it started the year in. Between September 2025 and August 2026, SportyBet’s share of search in South Africa went from 0.4% to 1.3% and its rank from 15th to sixth. The brand’s Blask Index there quadrupled. In Kenya, the Blask Index rose 65% over the same period. Share went from 1.6% to 2.8%, and the brand finished in eighth place, where it began. The two markets started from different positions. SportyBet resumed operations in Kenya in August 2025 after a tax and licensing dispute. In South Africa it was already active, and on 27 November it appointed Cheslin Kolbe and Benni McCarthy as ambassadors. In South Africa, the signing came when the line was already above the September base. The steepest two-month step followed, with share rising from 0.6% in December to 1.0% in February. July was the only month that fell, and August ended just below the June high. In Kenya, share peaked in April at 4%, with the brand in seventh place in May, and gave part of that back in the months after. Kenya’s overall search was about 8% lower in August than in September, so the extra share was won in a softer market. Projected revenue (CEB) followed the same pattern. In Kenya it rose from $0.62M to $1.6M. In South Africa it rose from $1.1M to $4.9M. Rank moved in South Africa, where the brand had no market exit behind it, and held in Kenya, where August stayed below the April high. Blask Index is a real-time measure of market demand volume for iGaming brands in a given country, based on normalized search data. CEB is Blask’s projected-revenue metric. Novig’s Blask Index of US prediction-market demand rose from 1% to 6.1% in a month. The move to third place came in the same month a $2B valuation was reported. Novig rose from fifth to third among US prediction-market brands in September 2026, according to Blask data. Its BAP, the brand’s share of search among those brands, went from 1% in August to 6.1% in September, a gain of 5.1 points. The gain came mostly from Kalshi. Its BAP fell 5.0 points, from 35.8% to 30.8%. Polymarket stayed first with 58.6%. The same month, a report said Novig had raised new funding at a $2B valuation, citing people familiar with the matter. That would be four times the $500M mark from earlier this year. Novig has not confirmed the figure or a completed round, and the number stays a reported one until it does. Novig’s regulatory position changed in June. The CFTC designated Ludlow Exchange, Novig’s exchange entity, as a designated contract market on 16 June 2026. Cofounder Jacob Fortinsky told Front Office Sports he was “very optimistic that a year from now we will very much be one of the first companies people think of when they hear about prediction markets.” In September search, the brand moved up to third place among US prediction-market brands. BAP is Blask’s measure of a brand’s share of search within a market. Prediction-market brands are measured in a separate segment from standard iGaming brands.
