Light & Wonder debuts ‘Gremlins’-themed slot game

Casino equipment and digital gaming content provider Light & Wonder Inc has announced the launch of “Gremlins”, a new slot game based on the 1984 Warner Bros. film of the same name. The game, developed in partnership with Warner Bros. Global Experiences, features characters from the film franchise, including ‘Gizmo’ and the ‘Mogwai’, alongside a range of bonus features and jackpot mechanics. According to a Wednesday announcement, the base game includes character-driven features that can nudge reels, duplicate symbols, add wild symbols and award additional prizes. The title also incorporates a ‘Coin Feature’, allowing players to collect coin values across the reels, with ‘Electric’ and ‘Water Mogwai’ characters contributing additional gameplay elements. Another feature, called Jackpot Mayhem Bonus, uses a hold-and-spin-style mechanic in which Gremlin symbols reveal letters that can lead to five different jackpots. Additional symbols can enhance prizes during the bonus round. Ryan Scott, senior vice president of product management and commercial strategy at Light & Wonder, said the game combined the film franchise’s nostalgic appeal with new gameplay features. “Gremlins is an instantly recognisable franchise with a personality and sense of fun that translates incredibly well to the casino floor,” stated Mr Scott. The new title made its world debut at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel, in California, in the United States. Light & Wonder did not provide details in its announcement regarding the game’s availability in other casino markets.
