Powerball Jackpot Reaches $687M for Monday Drawing

The Powerball jackpot has reached $687 million for the Monday drawing after no one won the top prize last Saturday. While the game has been creating plenty of Match 5 millionaires in recent weeks, the latest drawing had no such winners and made up for it with 30 tier-three wins. No Match 5 Winners This Time The Saturday Powerball drawing saw players compete for a top prize of $665 million with a cash value of $285.2 million. With the prize reaching new heights, the race has been getting more intense with each drawing. The Saturday drawing, for example, awarded tier-three prizes to some 30 players, despite no Match 5 wins happening. The winning Powerball numbers drawn on October 24 were 4, 5, 15, 19, and 55, plus the red Powerball 19. The Power Play multiplier, on the other hand, was 2x. As mentioned, no one matched all six numbers required to score a nine-figure win or the five white numbers required for a Match 5 payout. Despite that, dozens of players matched four white numbers plus the Powerball, resulting in multiple five- to six-figure payouts. For reference, 25 players who matched four white numbers plus the Powerball are now eligible to redeem $50,000 each. At the same time, 5 other ticket-holders can claim prizes of $100,000 thanks to the Power Play feature. Since the jackpot remained unclaimed, it has now reached $687 million with a cash value of $294.7 million. If the next drawing fails to produce a jackpot winner, the top prize could very well exceed the $700 million mark and the cash option can hit $300 million. The next drawing is set to take place later today, October 26. Several Big Wins Preceded the Saturday Drawing In other news, the October 21 drawing resulted in several big wins, with a lucky player in New Jersey winning $1 million. The same drawing also awarded two Match 5 + Power Play wins to players who had the Power Play feature active, resulting in two $2 million windfalls. Before that, a player in Michigan won $1 million from the game. This came shortly after a $1 million sum went to a player in Maryland.
